On November 2nd and 3rd, we will be hosting the Planted conference at our Lebanon Campus. Ed Stezter and Trevin Wax will be the guest speakers. I am really looking forward to this conference because Tim Brister, the founder of Planted has visited with us in the past couple weeks and shared with us what the conference is going to entail.
So here’s my question. Do you go to conferences? If so, why? Do you go because of the content? Or do you go because you want to say, “Hey I went to ‘Such-n-Such’ conference! I guess I’m cool now!”
I don’t have anything against any conference. I have attended several myself. But here’s the thing. I don’t always just attend the most popular ones because that’s where all the celebrity worship leaders, or pastors are going to be. I’ve realized over the last few years, that if I’m going to pay for a conference, it’s going to have to be something that I’m going to strategically use. Otherwise, I may just come back having experienced a huge brain-dump of info that I can’t practically put into place.
I say all of that to say this: Planted is a worthy network. It focuses on planting churches and equipping pastors, as well as lay leaders and church staff for the problems that they are facing NOW, not when they grow their church to 2,000 people. If you are a pastor, elder, deacon, kids ministry worker, parking lot team member, or just a Christian, this conference is something that you can benefit from. And here’s the best part. It’s really cheap! If you have an open Friday and Saturday morning to attend, we’d love to see you there. But more importantly, you don’t want to miss it! Here are the conference page, and the registration page.
