Last time we talked about three questions that I thought everyone should take time to ponder during this Christmas season. Today I’ll pose the last two. Let’s see what you think. If you missed the first three, you can check them out here.
Question number four: Do you see Christmas as an evangelical tool? Meaning, do you see this season as an opportunity to teach someone about Jesus, or do you just move through the holiday as if it were the 4th of July, or Thanksgiving, and just participate in the festivities?
First of all, as Christians, we should always be prepared to give an account for the hope in which we have (1 Peter 3:15). That being said, Jesus also told us, before he ascended back into heaven, to go make disciples. With Christmas being overly centered on the birth of the Savior, and the need for the redemption of sinners, shouldn’t we use this time to invite people to church, to share the gospel with them. If Christmas already lays the foundations for having a discussion about Jesus, do you think we (Christians) should take advantage of this time by sewing the seeds of the Gospel? Why or why not?
Question number five: Finally, (and this one is for fun) what do you want for Christmas!
What say you?
